Srinagar: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the Chairman of the Hurriyat (M) on Friday said that the Government of India’s decision to use plastic bullets in Kashmir is to prevent the people from asking India to honour it’s commitment of resolution of the dispute.
Mirwaiz’s comments come after Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, Union Minister of State for Home in a written reply in the Indian Parliament informed that ‘less lethal’ plastic bullets will be used to tackle ‘law and order’ situations in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ahir also said the government has no plans for enhanced use of bunkers to protect forces from stone throwers after the annual shift of the capital from Jammu to Srinagar in the next few days.
After raining live bullets ,teargas shells, pellets, pava shells,GOI has now decided to experiment with plastic bullets and add it to the military arsenal against hapless kashmiris! All this to prevent kashmiris from asking India to honour its commitment of resolution of K dispute! pic.twitter.com/4186MlCULC
