Bullet-riddled body of abducted Hajin youth recovered, says JK Police

Police on Tuesday recovered a body of a youth who was abducted by the gunmen on Monday, leaving three members of the family injured in Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A police officer said that the body of the youth Muntazir Ahmad, son of Farooq Ahmad Parrey, was found near a bund in the outskirts of Hajin area.

The body was taken into the custody for conducting legal medico formalities including postmortem.

Earlier, Police in a statement said that three members of a family received grievous injuries in late night militant attack at Hajin.

“At about 10:10 PM, 4 militants who are believed to be affiliated with Lashkar e Taiba, barged into the house of Farooq Ah Parrey resident of Par Mohalla Hajin and without caring about the life and dignity of the inmates, fired indiscriminately inside the house,” a police spokesman in a statement issued here had said.

In the incident, three members received grievous injuries including wife, daughter and brother of Farooq; namely Rafeeqa, Neelofar and Hilal Ahmad Parrey. The militants also abducted Muntazir Ah Parrey (the son in law of House owner) from there, the spokesman had said.

A First Information Report (FIR) into the incident has been registered and investigation into the matter set into motion, the spokesman said.
