Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Chairman of the Hurriyat (M) on Wednesday hailed the local media of the valley for persistently highlighting the Kathua rape and murder case due to which the government was ‘forced not to ignore it.’

Earlier, the President of India Ram Nath Kovind, who is visiting Jammu said that the Kathua rape and murder case was shameful. He added that ‘We have to think what kind of society are we developing. It is our responsibility to ensure such a thing does not happen to any girl or woman.’
