Infiltration bid foiled along LoC, four militants killed, says Army

The Indian Army on Saturday said that said that an infiltration bid was foiled along the Line of Control (LoC) in which four militants were killed.

The operation was launched in the border area of Tanghdar, around 120 km from Srinagar. Four militants were killed while attempting to infiltrate early morning today, said a defence spokesperson.

The killings took place a day after Army Chief General Bipin Rawat called upon Pakistan to stop infiltration to establish peace along border.

“We want peace at borders but as you know Pakistan continuously violates ceasefire that causes loss of life and property and in such a case we have to retaliate but if Pakistan wants peace, we expect them to take initiative, which will start with them stopping infiltration,” he said.
