Woman accuses Ramdev of murder of Guru Dixit believed to have conceived idea for Patanjali

Accuses Patanjali of selling fake and contaminated products

In a video that has gone viral on social media, a woman claiming to be a former associate of Ramdev, has made a series allegations of murder against the popular Yoga guru.

In the video, now being fervently shared on social media platforms (watch below), the woman, who identifies herself as ‘Dr Meera’ accuses Ramdev of being responsible for the ‘murder’ of the latter’s guru Rajiv Dixit.

The woman in the video says that she had joined Ramdev because she wanted to become a saint but she allegedly went through a great deal of pain after she witnessed how ‘criminal’ had ‘worn fake clothes of religion.’

She says, “… Criminals have worn the fake clothes of religion. They are willing to go to any extent to loot the country in the name of ‘swadeshi,’ but they themselves will wear Woodland shoes. Hypocrites… I went around everywhere with all the evidences that these people murdered Guru, Rajiv Dixit.”

Dixit, who is believed to have conceived the idea for Patanjali, was found dead in November 2010 in Chhattisgarh. Ramdev has often been blamed for his murder even the yoga guru has vehemently denied the allegations.

In 2012, he was quoted by PTI as saying, “There has been conspiracy to blame me for his death. I never thought people can go to this extent to blame me.” He was making these comments in response to a statement made by a senior Congress leader, who accused him of having his guru murdered.

In the viral video, the woman also says that she even wrote to Prime Minister Narendra and got an acknowledgment for her 44-page letter adding that she also approached media channels complaining of Ramdev’s alleged misdeeds.

“Then I went after the minister who buried the case, I filed an RTI request and then the case was filed. Everybody knows everything but no one wants to come forward, including the SP, DSP, the Chief Minister.”

She then goes on to allege that fake products are being sold under Patanjali brand.

She says, “These people have done severe crimes including the murder of Guru, selling fake products to the nation. They’re selling fake honey, fake ghee which are highly contaminated. I’ve been in their production unit, so I know all this and I can very well prove it.”

Other Godmen have been accused and sentenced for grave crimes in India. In August 2017, self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was sentenced to 20 years in jail and a fine of Rs 30,00,000 for raping two women 15 years ago as a CBI court ignored the Dera Sacha Sauda chief’s last-minute pleas for leniency.

The sentence was read out inside the heavily-guarded premises of Rohtak jail in Haryana by CBI judge Jagdeep Singh, who sentenced Singh under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (rape), section 506 (criminal intimidation) and section 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman). (Live updates)

TV reports said the 50-year-old convict, who commands a millions-strong following, broke down in court and had to be dragged out. Minutes before the verdict, two vehicles were set on fire in Sirsa, the headquarters of the sect.

Singh was pronounced guilty for the rapes on Friday by the CBI court in Haryana’s Panchkula. Minutes after his conviction, hundreds of his followers went on a rampage, burning down buildings, railway stations and vehicles.

The ensuing violence singed five states and left 38 people dead and 250 injured with the high court slamming the Haryana government for allowing 200,000 dera followers to gather in Panchkula.

In April 2018, a special trial court found self styled godman Asaram of guilty of raping a teenager in 2013.

Of the total five accused, three – including Asaram – were convicted, and two were acquitted.

The verdict was pronounced from Jodhpur Central Jail, where Asaram was lodged. This move was due to the fear of adverse reactions from Asaram’s followers, and a repeat of the violence that followed the verdict in the Gurmeet Ram Rahim case.

“Asaram is convicted, we have got justice. I want to thank everyone who supported us in this fight. Now I hope he will get strict punishment,” the father of the rape survivor had said.

“We will discuss with our legal team and then decide our future course of action. We have confidence in our judiciary,” said Neelam Dubey, Asaram spokesperson, after the verdict was announced, to ANI news agency.
