Srinagar: Clashes erupted in several parts of Kashmir valley on Wednesday after congregational Eid prayers, leaving several protesters and a CRPF man injured.
Reports said that clashes erupted in Achajipora and janglat Mandi area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag town after the conclusion of congregational Eid prayers.
They said several protesters were injured in the forces’ action. A protester suffered a pellet injury in his eye. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment, said an eye witness.
Reports said a CRPF man was injured in clashes in Janglat Mandi area of the town.
Clashes were also reported from Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district where youth tried to hold a demonstration at the main chowk.
In Srinagar, the armed forces fired pellets into a crowd of civilians, injuring many, including a photo journalist, Masrat Zahra.
