Hizb chief Salahuddin’s second son arrested by NIA during night raid in Srinagar

Syed Shakeel Ahmad, the second son of Hizb chief Syed Salahuddin was arrested by the National Investigation Agency during a night raid at his house in Rambagh area of Srinagar.

Ahmad works as a lab technician at the SKIMS, soura.

Last year, Syed Shahid Yousuf, Salahudin’s another son was arrested by the NIA in an alleged terror funding case. Shahid, an employee in the Agriculture department, has been suspended and since then is lodged in the Tihar Jail.

All Parties Huriyat Conference has time and again expressing deep concern over the alleged “miserable condition” of Kashmiris detainees lodged in Tihar jail. In a statement, the Hurriyat had said that the UJC Chief’s son was beaten to pulp and has suffered injuries in his head and arm.

The Counsel for Shahid Yousuf had produced a ‘blood-stained’ shirt of Shahid before Patiala Court alleging that his client was ruthlessly beaten up by Tamil Nadu Force guarding the Jail Cells of Tihar. While confirming it, family members had told news agency CNS that Shahid was not only abused but mercilessly thrashed by Tamil Nadu Force inside Tihar Jail.

Recently, a 22-member delegation of the civil society from district Budgam had called upon the then Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti in October last year at her residence to convey their “deep concerns about the unwarranted arrest of Shahid Yousuf.”

The delegation while stressing that Yousuf is a noble, humble and absolutely peaceful citizen, sought CM’s personal intervention in the matter and made a passionate and earnest appeal to her to secure his release.
