DGP Vaid says ‘speculative’ news articles which undermine morale should be avoided

Srinagar: Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Shesh Paul Vaid took to Twitter on Tuesday to say that ‘speculative’ news articles which undermined the morale should be avoided.

.@JmuKmrPolice has been fighting a proxy war for decades which requires a lot of courage & determination of the men & officers of JKP. Speculative articles which undermine their morale should be avoided. @ndtv as regards to transfer, it’s routine matter & prerogative of the govt.

He responded to Indian news channel NDTV as regards to reports that the Union Home Ministry of India was not “satisfied” with the state police and was looking for a replacement for Vaid.

The Home Ministry of India also disregarded the speculations and said that it commended the work of the Jammu and Kashmir police on more than one occasion.

“MHA has denied reports that it is unhappy with Jammu & Kashmir police. On more than one occasion, MHA has commended the work done by J&K police and the valiant sacrifices made by the men & officers of J&K police. There is no question of any dissatisfaction,” a spokesperson of the MHA said in a tweet.
