Nine people were killed and upto 46 injured after a driver rammed into crowded public square in China’s Hunan province and later went on a stabbing spree on Wednesday, AFP reported. The incident took place at 7:35 pm (1135 GMT), a statement issued on the official social media account of Hengdong city said.
The driver, in his mid-40s has been taken into custody, reported state-funded news website The Paper and said that the arrested’s description is similar to a person who had previously been jailed on drug charges.
Investigations are underway, but no further details were provided.
