Civilian accused of being an informer abducted, killed by militants in Pulwama, says Police

Srinagar: The Police Media Centre Friday issued a statement informing about the ‘abduction and killing of a civilian’ Nadeem Manzoor of Safanagri, Shopian by militants in Pulwama district.

This follows after a video showing a boy wearing Kashmiri traditional Pheran being questioned, in Kashmiri language.

The civilian has been accused of being an informer, allegedly responsible for killing of two militants in a recent encounter in Shopian.

“Terrorists in the intervened night forcibly  abducted a civilian and later  killed him in a brutal act of terror at Pulwama. Civilian has been identified as Nadeem Manzoor of Safanagri Shopian,” read the statement.

The bullet riddled body, according to the police, was retrieved from Niklora, Pulwama.

“A case in this regard has been registered under relevant sections of law and investigation initiated,” the statement read.

After the killing militants released another video, in which Nadeem is seen being questioned, along with another Zahoor Ahmad Dar. Nadeem is seen accepting that he informed the armed forces about the presence of militants.
