Three civilians including a former SPO abducted in Shopian

Srinagar: Three civilians, including a former Special Police Officer (SPO) have been abducted by suspected militants in Shopian on Friday, the police has said.

A police official said that suspected militants abducted former SPO Basharat Ahmad Wagay, Riyaz Ahmad and Zahid from Reben village at around 4:30 pm.

More details are awaited.

In the the past week, as many as nine people were abducted from the district. Out of the nine, seven were released. Two, identified as Huzaif Ashraf of Manzgam and Nadeem Manzoor of Safanagri– were killed.
