Mirwaiz appeals international community to ‘help stopping massacre of Kashmiris’

Srinagar: The Chairman of the Hurriyat (M) on Saturday appealed to the international community  to help stop the ‘massacre of Kashmiris by the Indian forces.’

Mirwaiz was reacting over the death of two civilians – Ishfaq Ahmad and Muskaan Jan – who succumbed at SKIMS and SMHS hospitals on Friday morning.

In a tweet he said:

Ishfaq Ahmad, a carpenter by profession was critically injured in a firing incident in Chattergam area of Budgam last night. He succumbed at SKIMS Soura on Friday.

Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that the reports on the circumstances around the shooting of a civilian due to a firing incident in Budgam were ‘conflicting’ and called on the region’s government to ‘establish a factual position of the people, especially Ishfaq’s family’.

Locals blamed the army for his killing, however army refuted by saying that Ahmad was shot at by the militants “500-600 metres away” from their camp in Chattergam.

Muskaan Jan, a resident of Kulgam district who passed away at SMHS, was critically injured, allegedly in cross-fire after militants launched an attack on an army camp in the district on Thursday morning.
