Traffic temporarily suspended on Jammu and Kashmir highway following landslides

Srinagar: Authorities on Monday temporarily suspended traffic movement on Jammu and Kashmir highway, following landslides near Mompassi, reports said.

The traffic had been restored for one-way earlier today from Srinagar-Jammu.

Trucks and tankers carrying petroleum products had to take the Kud-Patnitop-Batote stretch of the highway as no vehicle carrying inflammatory material was allowed to pass through the Chenani-Nashri tunnel that by-passes the old Kud-Patnitop-Batote stretch of the highway.

The highway had earlier remained closed due to fresh snowfall and multiple landslides.
