Srinagar: Two militants were killed and at least five army men were injured in a gunfight which erupted in the in a Nowgam area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Friday.
A police spokesman said two militants were killed in the gunfight. He said their identities and group affiliations were being ascertained.
According to news agency GNS, the gunfight broke out in Sutsoo Kalan area of Chattergam early Friday. Quoting a senior police officer, it said an M4 and an INSAS rifle were recovered from the possession of the slain militants.
