Srinagar: Since the imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, Government has withdrawn security cover of 919 persons which include 22 pro-freedom leaders, reported the ANI.
Ministry of Home Affairs: In a major step the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir has withdrawn security cover from 919 undeserving persons, since Governor’s Rule (20th June, 2018) in the State, thereby freeing 2,768 police personnel and 389 vehicles.

Quoting sources, ANI reported that the Ministry of Home Affairs said, ” List of persons whose security cover has been withdrawn by State Govt includes 22 separatist leaders giving a clear message to those who are involved in anti-national activities. MHA also added that many ‘undeserving’ people were provided with security cover.Home Ministry: The move follows strict stance by Home Ministry on inappropriate usage of scarce police resources in the State. It was observed by Centre that many undeserving persons managed to get security cover resulting in lack of State police resources for public at large.
