Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) has sought re-poll on several polling booths, blaming NC candidate Husnain Masoodi and PDP worker Waheed Parra for indulging in bogus voting in Pampore and Rajpora constituencies.
In a statement issued to KNS, the JKPCC Spokesperson has sought re-polling at booth No, 4,5,6,7, 8 at BHSS Khrew in Pampore assembly segment and at booth No. 113 GHSS Niara in Rajpora constituency, as the “NC Candidate Husnain Masoodi, who belong to Pampore constituency indulged in bogus voting, besides bringing in people in vehicles from different areas and make them caste bogus votes on these booths”.
“The matter has been reported to returning officer for immediate necessary action,” the spokesperson said.
The NC candidate and his son Yawar Masoodi also indulged in fighting Congress leader and snatched his mobile, besides not allowing him to enter polling booths, congress said.
He said the “PDP worker Waheed Ur Rehaman Parra who had captured booth No. 113 at GHSS Naira since today morning used muscle power to overthrow polling agents of Congress party, besides his close associates beat Congress worker ruthlessly, leaving him grievously injured”.
“Congress party seeks re-polling on these booths and emphasize the Chief Electoral Officer of J&K and concerned returning officer to order re-poll to ensure free and fair elections,” he added and said the matter has already been reported to returning officer for immediate necessary action.
Congress emphasized CEO to take strong notice of booth capturing by NC and PDP.
