LS Polls: Grenade lobbed at polling station in Pulwama

Srinagar: Suspected militants lobbed a grenade towards a polling station in Pulwama on Monday where polling is underway for the Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency.

The police said that a grenade was lobbed towards Rohmoo polling station in Pulwama but there were no reports of any casualties in the the blast. Armed forces have cordoned off the area.

This was the first militant attack on a polling station in this Lok Sabha election in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, thin polling has been recorded in both Pulwama and Shopian districts. Officials said that in Shopian assembly segment 0.34 percent votes were cast till 9 am while in Wachi constituency it was 0.29%.

In Pulwama up to 9 am voting percentage stood at 0.45.
