Rashid demands action against Vikramaditya for insulting remarks against 1931 martyrs

Srinagar: A march was led by Engineer Rashid, Former legislator and Awami Ittehad Party president, with his supporters from Regal Chowk to Press Enclave in Srinagar today, to demand action against Congress leader and grangson of last Dogra ruler Vikramaditya Singh over his remarks on 1931 martyrs.

Talking to reporters, Rasheed said that the Congress leader has made indecent remarks against the July 13, 1931 martyrs. “They (martyrs) were not rapists and thiefs. They raised their voice against your grandfather as they were fighting for truth,” said Rasheed while addressing Vikramaditya.

Rasheed said the government should take action against Vikramaditya for insulting the martyrs.

Recently , Singh in a tweet had called the July 13, 1931 martyrs as “rapists, criminals and looters”.

Moreover, PDP also flayed Singh over his statement on July 13, 1931 martyrs, terming it derogatory, mischievous and reflection of a communal mindset.
