Srinagar: In Jammu and Kashmir, 198 new positive cases of Covid-19 were reported on Monday. Kashmir recorded 165 new cases while the number of cases recorded in Jammu was comparatively low, at 33, data from DIPR’s media bulletin on Covid-19 revealed.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the Union Territory has now reached 4,285 with Kulgam recording a total of 537 cases, highest in any district.
Baramulla so far has recorded 482 Covid-19 cases followed by Srinagar (466), and Shopian (401) in the district-wise list.
The death toll of Covid-19 deaths in the UT reached 48 on Tuesday morning after a 70 year old man from Panzath village of Qazigund succumbed at GMC Anantnag.
Principal GMC Anantnag, Dr. Showkat Jeelani said, that the patient from Panzath, who was very critical has died at GMC in this morning, reported news agency KNO.
He was tested positive for COVID a few days ago and was suffering from Pneumonia besides other ailments, he said.
