COVID cases in India spike 11,000 in a day, total surges past 3 lakh, makes India 4th-worst-hit country

The graph of covid-19 cases is on a rapid surge with the highest single-day leap of 11,458 cases, turning the total number of cases to 3,08,993 as per the data given by the Union Health Ministry.

After considering the new data, India becomes the fourth country to have the highest number of Covid-19 cases among the worst hit 10 nations of the world.

The death toll reached 8,884 after 386 deaths were recorded in a single day.

The worst hit state of Maharashtra has crossed the tally of 1 lakh after it recorded 3,493 cases on Friday, therefore, adding majorly to the total tally of cases in the country.

As far as the national capital, Delhi is concerned, the number of cases crossed 36,000 and the toll death reached 1214 as per the authorities.

The state of Tamil Nadu has crossed 40000 mark as 1982 positive cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, India’s recovery rate stands at 49.94 % as per the latest data with 1,54,330 number of cases being recovered.

The coronavirus pandemic has killed about 4,25,000 people across the globe, as per an AFP tally.
