Gunfight breaks out in South Kashmir’s Tral, 3 militants believed to be trapped

Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between militants and the armed forces in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday, officials said.

They said that the gunfight broke out after police and the security forces launched a search operation in the Chewa Ullar area of Tral.

As per the armed forces, a joint team of Police, Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

Earlier in the day, two militants were killed in a gunfight with the security forces in Hardshiva area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
