70-yr-old woman tests COVID-19 positive after death, JK death toll 92

As of now 4,080 people have recovered after caching the virus

Srinagar: The novel coronavirus seems to be giving J&K a tough fight as more and more people are testing positive for the deadly virus.

Baramulla recorded 63 cases in a single day and Udhampur recorded 40 cases in a single-day spike taking the toll tally of positive cases to 6763 with 2591 active cases.

The death toll currently stands at 92 as a 70 year old woman hailing from Sopore, Baramulla passed away last night and she tested positive for the virus posthumously.

Dr Nazir Choudhary, Medical Superintendent SMHS hospital, confirmed that the septuagenarian died last night.

She was admitted to the hospital on June 25, Dr Choudhary said, adding she was suffering from pneumonia and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

So far, 92 people have succumbed to the virus in J&K—11 from Jammu division and 81 from the Valley.

Srinagar district with 22 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Baramulla 14, Kulgam (11), Shopian (10), seven each from Jammu and Budgam, Anantnag (6), Kupwara (5), Pulwama (four) while one death each has been reported from Bandipora, Poonch, Doda, Udhampur and Rajouri.

As of now, 4080 people have recovered from the fatal virus.
