Coronavirus cases in India decline for second day, recovery rate improves

The number of people testing positive for the virus has declined as 18,522 cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

In comparison to the large number of cases being recorded on Sunday (19,906) and Monday (19,459), the tally for the last 24 hours had declined.

The death toll currently tallies to 16,893 as 418 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases has climbed up to 2,15,125 as 3,34,821 patients have recovered.

The recovery rate improved to 59.06%.

As the country will begin it’s “unlock 2” from 1st July, the prime minister is going to address the nation today.

India has developed its first indigenous COVID-19 vaccine COVAXIN. The vaccine has been developed by the city-Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech in collaboration with ICMR and NIV and has received approval by drug controller general of India.
