Kanye Omari West, an American rapper and singer has announced that he will be contesting the US presidential elections 2020.
The announcement was made public through his official twitter handle. “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States,” Kanye tweeted, to which his wife Kim Kardashian replied with an American flag.
According to reports, the rapper has been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and has visited the White House to meet him several times.
In one particular meeting, West had donned a cap which read “make America great again.”
In praise of the Kanye, Trumph earlier said that he could very well be a presidential candidate.
The idea of aiming for Presidential candidacy is not very fresh. In a tweet in the year 2018, Kanye said “2024” that perhaps was the hint of his decision of running for the White House.
Kanye who began his musical carrier in 1996, recently received an applaud for releasing a single about racism and religion.
