JK death toll rises to 341 as COVID claims 3 more lives

Srinagar: With the death of six more COVID patients, the toll in Jammu and Kashmir has mounted to 341, officials said on Wednesday.

They said that six deaths were reported this morning inducing the death of a 52-year-old woman from Budgam and a 75-year-old man from Wazirbagh Srinagar.

“Both had co-morbidities with Community-Acquired Pneumonia,” a senior official said.

So far 316 deaths have been reported in Kashmir and 25 in Jammu division.

On Tuesday, officials said that JK reported 489 novel coronavirus cases including 79 travellers, taking the overall count to 18,879 in the region, among them, 134 were reported from Jammu and 355 from Kashmir.

They said 483 more COVID patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals. They include 46 from Jammu division and 437 from Kashmir.

In Kashmir, Srinagar tops the list with 4,273 cases followed by Baramulla with 1,815, Kulgam 1,475, Shopian 1,412, Anantnag 1,233, Pulwama 1,296, Kupwara 1,066, Budgam 1,183, Bandipora 675, and Ganderbal 384.
