With fresh 473 infections, JK COVID tally mounts to 23,927

Srinagar: With the fresh 473 cases of novel Coronavirus reported on Friday, the total number of infections in Jammu and Kashmir has mounted to 23927.

The erstwhile state has reported 13 fresh deaths during the last 24 hours.

According to a statement from Jammu and Kashmir administration, 510 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 142 from Jammu division and 368 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 23927 positive cases, 7260 are Active Positive, 16218 have recovered and 449 have died- 34 in Jammu division and 415 in Kashmir.

The bulletin further said that out of 695620 test results available, 671693 samples have been tested as negative till August 07, 2020.

Additionally, till date, 384044 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 42615 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7260 in isolation and 43889 under home surveillance. Besides, 289831 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Providing district-wise details, the bulletin said that Srinagar has 5822 positive cases with 2353 active positive infections, 3322 patients have recovered and 147 have died so far. Baramulla has 2073 positive cases with 382 active positives, 1614 recovered and 77 deaths.

Pulwama reported 1769 positive cases with 718 active positive cases, 1024 have recovered and 27 have died. Kulgam has 1593 positive cases with 154 active positive, 1410 recoveries and 29 deaths. Shopian has 1508 positive cases with 198 active positives, 1286 recovered and 24 deaths. Anantnag district has 1498 positive cases with 315 active positives, 1153 recovered and 30 deaths. Budgam has 1462 positive cases with 428 active positives, 1000 recovered cases and 34 deaths.

Kupwara has 1209 positive cases with 223 active positives, 963 recovered and 23 deaths. Bandipora has 962 positive cases with 344 active positives, 601 recovered and 17 deaths and Ganderbal has 630 positive cases with 289 active positive cases and 334 recoveries and 07 deaths.

The JK administration has also evacuated about 2,91,165 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 107 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 89,549 passengers while about 2,01,616 persons from other states and UTs including 904 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.
