JK reports fresh 540 COVID cases, 19,942 recovered so far

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Friday informed that 540 fresh COVID cases were detected today, thus taking the total number of cases in JK to 27,4,89.

The Kashmir division of the erstwhile state reported 11 COVID deaths in past 24 hours.

Moreover, 640 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 204 from Jammu and 436 from Kashmir division.

According to the bulletin, out of 27,4,89 positive cases, 7027 are Active Positive, 19,942 have recovered and 520 have died- 39 in Jammu division and 481 in Kashmir division.

The bulletin further said that out of 77,53,33 test results available, 74,7,844 samples have been tested as negative till August 14, 2020.

Additionally, till date, 40,94,14 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 41,7,37 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7027 in isolation and 47531 under home surveillance. Besides, 31,25,99 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The administration has also evacuated 3,11,901 stranded JK residents; 2,15,703 via Lakhanpur, 96,198 through special trains

As per the official data received in this regard, the JK administration has received 114 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 96,198 passengers while about 2,15,703 persons from other states and UTs including 906 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.
