COVID claims 14 more lives in JK, toll mounts to 620

Srinagar: Fourteen more patients who were tested positive for COVID, died in Jammu and Kashmir during the last 24 hours, thus taking the toll of deaths due to the virus to 620.

Official sources said that 14 patients who died include a 79-year-old woman from Kralgund Kupwara, a 75-year-old man from Bemina Srinagar, a 56-year-old pharmacist from Ashmuqam Anantnag, a 16-year-old girl from Devsar Kulgam, a 73-year-old man from Sopore Baramulla, a 62-year-old man from Alamgari Bazar Srinagar, a 68-year-old man from Khawajabagh Baramulla, an 82-year-old man from Nalabal Nowshera Srinagar, a 63-year-old woman from Bemina Srinagar, a 40-year-old man from Chanapora Srinagar, a 60-year-old woman from Kishtwar, a 70-year-old man from Marh Jammu, a 70-year-old man from Samba and a 45-year-old man from Poonch.

With 14 fresh deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 620 including 575 from Kashmir division and 45 from Jammu division.

On Saturday, the JK administration on Saturday informed that 610 fresh COVID cases were detected in the erstwhile state, thus taking the total number of positive cases to 31981.

The erstwhile state also reported 15 COVID deaths,4 from Jammu division and 11 from Kashmir.

Moreover, 593 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 141 from Jammu division and 452 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 31981 positive cases, 6975 are Active Positive, 24398 have recovered and 608 have died; 45 in Jammu division and 563 in Kashmir division.
