JK reports 428 fresh COVID infections, 25,205 recovered so far

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday informed that 428 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus have been found thus taking the total number of cases in JK to 33,075.

The Kashmir division of the erstwhile state also reported 7 COVID deaths during the last 24 hours.

Moreover, 373 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 95 from Jammu division and 278 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 33075 positive cases, 7246 are Active Positive, 25205 have recovered and 624 have died; 47 in Jammu division and 577 in Kashmir.

The bulletin further said that out of 877836 test results available, 844761 samples have been tested as negative till August 24, 2020.

Till date, 435205 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 43158 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7246 in isolation and 41652 under home surveillance. Besides, 342525 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The administration has also evacuated about 3,48,260 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 124 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 106,546 passengers while about 2,41,714 persons from other states and UTs including 928 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.

As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 2230 stranded passengers have entered through Lakhanpur from August 24 to August 25 mornings while 1030 passengers have reached today in the 103rd Delhi COVID special train at Jammu. So far, 103 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 90,850 stranded passengers belonging to different districts while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far.
