With fresh 78,761 COVID cases toll in India jumps beyond 35 lakh

Srinagar: With the fresh 78,761 COVID cases detected in the last 24 hours ending this morning, the toll in India has jumped beyond 35 lakh.

According to a data showed by Health Ministry of India, of the 35,42,734 cases of Covid-19 in India, 7,65,302 patients are under treatment for the disease, 27,13,934 have recovered and 63,498 have died.

On Saturday, the government of India issued Unlock 4 guidelines under which it said that states could no longer impose lockdowns outside containment zones without its permission and must not seal borders.

Apart from this, the guidelines mentioned that metro trains, suspended since March 22, are expected to resume from September 7 in a graded manner, while public congregations of up to 100 people will be permitted from September 21.

Schools and colleges will remain closed till the end of September, but 50 per cent of their teachers may be called in to facilitate online teaching.

Worldwide, the number of people infected by the virus crossed 25 million.
