‘Eleven others are absconding and raids are being conducted to nab them’
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police in Poonch district have booked sixteen persons and arrested five of them on the charges of the murder of a local resident.
Police officials that incident took place on Sunday morning, when a man working in his fields was attacked by some of his neighbours over some land dispute.
“The man was reportedly beaten up and he died on the spot,” police officials said, adding that soon after receiving the information, police teams rushed to the spot.
“The body was shifted to a local hospital where post mortem examination was conducted,” they said.
A senior police officer said that sixteen persons of the area have been booked for murder of the man and so far five of the accused have been arrested while rest of the eleven persons are absconding and raids are being conducted to nab them.
The victim as per the police has been identified as Mohammad Younis, son of Mohammad Yousuf of Pathana Mohalla of Qasba village of Poonch.
