In last 24 hours, India has reported fresh 75,809 coronavirus infections and 1,133 virus-related deaths.
According to the Health Ministry of India, though the daily cases saw a decline- India was reporting over 90,000 cases for two consecutive days. Now, the country’s Covid death numbers are the highest so far.
With the new confirmed cases, the total number of cases in India, which is now the second-most affected nation, has reached42,80,442.
As per the figures, about 8.83 lakh cases in the country are active (20.9 per cent of the total cases) and the recovery rate stood at 77.6 per cent.
The five states of India including Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh are the worst-hit states, the Ministry said.
On Tuesday Morning, the Health Ministry, in a tweet, said that over 32 lakh or 77 per cent of the people have recovered from the virus.
