BJP’s wrong policies prompted China to intervene in Kashmir affairs, says Khalida Shah

Srinagar: Khalida Shah, a President of Awami National Conference on Monday said that Kashmir is the basic cause of whatever is happening between China and India this time.

She said that abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir, and bifurcating the state into two union territories prompted China to intervene into the affairs of Kashmir.

“Whatever is happening this time, it is because of Kashmir. Ladakh is part of Jammu and Kashmir and it can’t be snatched from us,” she said.

Shah said that the special status granted to JK had even the consent of Mahatma Gandhi but the present BJP government annulled it in a single night against the wishes of people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Special Status of Jammu and Kashmir was always an eye-sore for present BJP regime. Our special status was abrogated illegally and unconstitutionally. This BJP government brought illegal laws and is still enforcing laws against the wishes of the common people of Jammu and Kashmir,” she said adding that it is right time for the people to get united against forces that are anti-Kashmir.

In response to a question, Shah said that ‘Gupkar Declaration’ is a historical declaration that has support of people and politicians. “Only few paid agents oppose it and are misleading people. There is nothing wrong in demanding what is yours. If somebody snatches anything from people, people have right to fight for it and demand the same,” she said.
