52 armed forces personnel among 824 COVID cases reported in 24 hours in JK, toll reaches 73,014

Srinagar: In the last 24 hours, Jammu and Kashmir has reported 8,24 new novel coronavirus cases including 82 travellers and 52 armed forces personnel, taking the total count to 73,014.

The erstwhile state also reported 14 COVID related deaths; 11 from Jammu division and 03 from Kashmir.

Moreover, 1,408 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 831 from Jammu division and 577 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 73014 positive cases, 17601 are Active Positive, 54267 have recovered and 1146 have died; 320 in Jammu division and 826 in Kashmir.

The bulletin further said that out of 1581606 test results available, 1508592 samples have been tested as negative till September 28, 2020.

Till date, 570333 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15721 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 17601 in isolation and 51373 under home surveillance. Besides, 484492 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The bulletin has informed that the best way to protect themselves from COVID is by maintaining a physical distance of at least 2 meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.

As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
