JK reports 975 COVID infections in 24 hours, tally mounts to 78,228

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday informed that  975 COVID cases were detected in the last 24 hours in JK, thus taking its total tally to 78,228.

The erstwhile state also reported 19 COVID related deaths- 11 from Jammu division and 08 from Kashmir.

Moreover, 1,399 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 848 from Jammu division and 551 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 78,228 positive cases, 15646 are Active Positive, 61351 have recovered and 1231 have died; 376 in Jammu division and 855 in Kashmir division.

The bulletin further said that out of 1685809 test results available, 1607581 samples have been tested as negative till October 03, 2020.

Till date, 589383 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 21523 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 15646 in isolation and 48922 under home surveillance. Besides, 502061 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The administration also said that it evacuated about 5,38,087 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the administration said that it received 155 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 1,40,292 passengers while about 3,97,795 persons from other states and UTs including 934 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.

As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 5694 stranded passengers have entered through Lakhanpur from October 02 to October 03 mornings while 134 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 124,596 stranded passengers belonging to different districts so far while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far. However, no train arrived at Jammu today.
