Gurgaon: In yet another shocking incident reported on Sunday, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped and brutally beaten up by four men in Gurgaon city of Haryana state in India, resulting in severe head injuries to the woman.
However, all the accused aged between 20 and 25, have been arrested by the police hours after the crime, a report by news agency PTI said.
Quoting Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), DLF, Karan Goyal, the report said that incident took place in Gurgaon’s DLF Phase 2 in the early hours of Sunday. and all the four accused, three of them delivery boys, have been arrested.
Goyal told the news agency that one of the four accused met the woman on Saturday night near Sikanderpur metro station in Gurgaon and took her to a realtor’s office, where the crime took place.
He added that other three accused were present there. One of the accused worked at the realtor’s office and had the keys to the complex.
The ACP said the accused beat up the woman and when she resisted their attempts, they accused men smashed her head against a wall.
“She suffered a deep cut on her head and was hospitalised in Gurgaon,” the officer was quipped as saying.
Soon after committing the crime, the accused persons fled the spot and on hearing the woman’s cries, a security guard of the complex alerted the police who reached the spot and took her to the hospital, the police said.
In this regard, a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the law and further investigation shave been taken up.
This comes at a time when candle marches are being organised in the city seeking justice for the young woman who was gang-raped and then murdered by four upper-caste Hindu men in Hathras area of Uttar Pradesh state.
In August this year, Haryana inspector general of police Hemant Kalsan was also booked and arrested for allegedly beating two women.
