Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) is mulling to hold annual examination of 10th and 12th class students from November 15.
Every year annual board examinations of class 10th and 12th were held in the month of October, however, due to the spread of novel coronavirus the examination have been delayed by more than a month as students have not attended regular classes this year.
Dr Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, Joint Secretary Examination JKBOSE told Free Press Kashmir that they are planning to hold exams of Class 10th and 12th from November 15 and will issue a date sheet very soon.
“At this time bi-annual examinations of class 10th and 12th are going on and it will be concluded in the month of October. Exams of class 10th and 12th are next in the priority list,” Hakak said, adding that they are estimating the number of students appearing for the annual exams of 10th and 12th and accordingly they will designate the number of examination centers required, ‘keeping in mind social distancing norms’.
“We have to arrange sufficient space for exam centers so that social distancing is strictly maintained as a precautionary measure for the COVID-19. Due to the coronavirus the examination has been delayed so that students will get a sufficient time to prepare,” he added.
Earlier in August Jammu and Kashmir government had announced a relaxation in examination of both the classes and said that there will be a choice based questions paper.
Students will be given a 100 marks question paper and out of which they can only attempt 70 marks which will be considered as 100.
JKBOSE has said, “if students will attempt 70% questions in exams that will be treated as 100%. For example, if there are 10 questions, students can attempt only seven. These seven will be considered as 100%.”
