CRPF probing video shared by Rahul Gandhi mentioning ‘apathy of armed forces personnel travelling in non-bullet proof vehicles’

New Delhi: A day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shared a video, in which a posse of armed forces personnel say that their officer was playing with their lives by sending them in a non-bulletproof truck, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has said that probe to check the authenticity of the video is going on.

In this video, armed forces personnel sitting inside a truck alleged that their officer was playing with their lives by sending them in a non-bulletproof truck.

Gandhi, in a tweet, said that armed forces personnel are being sent to become martyrs in non-bulletproof trucks while the government has Rs 8400 crore aircraft for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

They also complained that by the kind of treatment meted out to them, their lives are being compromised and blamed the authorities for playing with not only them but also their families.

Reacting to the video, the Deputy Inspector General Moses Dhinakaran, in a statement, said that “CRPF has adequate protective vehicles to meet varied operational requirements”

According to a report by news agency PTI, GoI has brought two VVIP planes for travel of the President, Prime Minister and Vice President, even as it maintained that the process for procuring the two aircraft had begun under the UPA government, and the current dispensation has only brought it to a logical conclusion.
