398 COVID cases reported in 24 hours take JK’s tally to 84,031, recoveries at 72,706

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday informed that 398 new COVID cases were detected in the erstwhile state, thus taking the total number of cases to 84,031.

JK also reported 11 COVID deaths- 05 from Jammu division and 06 from Kashmir in the last 24 hours.

Moreover, 861 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 535 from Jammu and 326 from Kashmir division.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel Corona virus, out of 84,031 positive cases, 9,992 are Active Positive, 72,706 have recovered and 1,333 have died; 434 in Jammu division and 899 in Kashmir division.

The bulletin further said that out of 18,54,486 test results available, 17,70,455 samples have been tested as negative till October 12, 2020.

Till date 61,56,10 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 25024 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 9992 in isolation and 49240 in home surveillance. JK administration also said that it has evacuated about 5,93,703 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 155 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 1,40,292 passengers while about 4,53,411 persons from other states and UTs including 937 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.

As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 6564 stranded passengers have entered through Lakhanpur from October 11 to October 12 mornings while 134 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 124,596 stranded passengers belonging to different districts so far while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far. Also, no train arrived at Jammu today.
