Srinagar: A military operation against militants has started in Rambagh area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Monday morning.

Official sources said that a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
They said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them ensuing an operation.
Police officials also confirmed the exchange of gunfire between armed forces personnel and militants.
As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
