25 armed forces personnel among 578 COVID cases reported in 24 hours in JK, tally reaches 87,942

Srinagar: Twenty-five armed forces personnel and five doctors besides eighteen travellers were among 578 COVID cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours, taking the total count to 87,942.

Out of these cases, 193 were reported from Jammu division and 385 from Kashmir valley, officials said on Sunday.

Giving district-wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 167 cases, Budgam 33, Baramulla 52, Pulwama 16, Kupwara 32, Anantnag 49, Bandipora 15, Ganderbal 14, Kulgam 7, Shopian 0, Jammu 119, Rajouri 9, Udhampur 0, Doda 12, Kathua 2, Poonch 14, Samba 6, Kishtwar 22, Ramban 6 and Reasi 3.

A number of these cases were confirmed at CD and SKIMS diagnostic laboratories and include twenty-five armed forces personnel, five doctors and four minors.

JK also reported seven COVID related deaths- 03 from Jammu division and 04 from Kashmir. Moreover, 598 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 288 from Jammu and 310 from Kashmir.

Out of 87942 positive cases, 8677  are Active Positive, 77886 have recovered and 1379 have died; 457 in Jammu division and 922 in Kashmir division.

Till date, 627750 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 21218 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 8677 in isolation and 52490 in home surveillance. Besides, 543986 persons have completed their surveillance period.
