Two militants killed, armed forces personnel injured in military operation in Budgam, says police

Srinagar: Two militants were killed and armed forces personnel injured in a military operation against militants in Mouchwa area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.

Official sources said that two militants were killed and an armed forces personnel injured in the operation. The injured armed forces personnel was later shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment, where his condition is said to be stable.

Identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained, officials said.

Meanwhile, the residential house in which the operation took place has also reduced to ashes after it caught fire due to the shelling.

Yesterday a joint team of Srinagar Police, Budgam Police and army’s 50RR launched a cordon and search operation in Mouchwa.

Officials said as the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering the operation. The operation was halted yesterday due to darkness and was resumed this morning.
