Farooq Abdullah’s residence blocked by Admin, stopped from offering Friday prayers: NC

Srinagar: Authorities on Friday blocked the residence of former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Dr Farooq Abdullah and stopped him from offering the Friday prayers at Dargah Hazratbal on the occasion of  Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (ﷺ).

“J&K administration has blocked the residence of Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah and stopped him from offering prayers at Dargah Hazratbal. JKNC condemns this infringement of fundamental right to pray, especially on the auspicious occasion of Milad Un Nabi SAW,” JKNC tweeted.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of PAGD, in a statement, has condemned the actions of JK administration.

“We strongly condemn the actions of the state administration which is tantamount to interference in the religious rights of Dr Farroq Abdullah. This marks a new low in the curtailment of fundamental rights of the people of J and K. We demand that the blockade be removed so that Dr Farroq Sahib is able to perform his religious duties,” the statement read.

The PAGD also condemns ‘unequivocally and unambiguously’ the brutal killing of three workers of the BJP.

“Political differences cannot justify the use of violence. Violence has always and will crowd out sanity. We will always fight aggression in all its forms irrespective of the source of aggression”, the statement added.
