JK reports 15,439 COVID cases, 216 deaths in November

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir reported 15,439 Coronavirus cases and 216 COVID related deaths in the month of November.

As per official data, a total of 15, 439 positive cases were reported in the month of November in Jammu and Kashmir including 8,839 cases from Kashmir and 6,600 from Jammu division.

Moreover, 216 persons who were tested positive for COVID have died, which include 121 from Kashmir division and 95 from Jammu.

Pertinently, 19,715 positive cases and 297 deaths were reported in Jammu and Kashmir in the month of October.

As per the records available, September month recorded a huge spike in the positive cases as well as the deaths as 37,373 positive cases and 478 deaths were reported across Jammu and Kashmir in the particular month.

As per the details, 17,339 positive cases and 326 deaths were reported in JK in the month of August.

Moreover, 12,862 positive cases and 276 deaths were reported in July.

As per the official data available, in the first 115 days (from March 08-June 30) a total of 7,497 positive cases and 101 COVID-19 related deaths were witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir.

Notably, the first case of the COVID pandemic in India was reported on 30 January 2020, originating from China.

Slowly, the pandemic spread to various states and Union Territories including Jammu and Kashmir.

On March 4, two suspected cases with high virus load were detected and isolated in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu and five days later, one of them tested positive for COVID. Both of them had a travel history.
