Procurement of plant material ‘without invitations’ in Aloosa Bandipora, CBK registers case

Srinagar: Crime Branch of Kashmir on Tuesday registered a case into illegal procurement of plant material in Aloosa block of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

In a statement, officials said that after conducting a preliminary verification into a written complaint received from Rural Development Department J&K, prima facie indicates that the procurement has been done without inviting tender and subsequent distribution into the selected villages by the then BDO and other officials.

The act, as per the statement from CBK, “clearly shows” involvement of Block Development Officer Syed Shabir Rizvi, MPWs Mohammad Amin Shah and Ghulam Mohidin Sheikh.

Furthermore, the supply orders were issued to particular suppliers for extraneous considerations, the statement said.

The investigations into the case have been set in motion and accordingly an FIR No. 46/2020 U/S 420,409,120-B RPC r/w 5(2) PC Act has been registered in this regard, the statement added.
