Srinagar: An armed forces personnel who sustained injuries in a military operation against militants in Shopian district’s Kanigam area succumbed to the wounds on Monday.
Official sources said that the armed forces personnel was critically injured in the operation at Kanigam Shopian last week and succumbed to his injuries at army’s 92-Base Hospital Srinagar.
On December 26, two armed forces personnel were injured and two local Al-Badr militants were killed in the operation which commenced late on Friday and culminated on December 26.
The two militants killed were identified as Owais Farooq of Kadlabal Pampore Awantipora and Asif Lone of Turkwangam Shopian, both affiliated with Al-Badr.
