Minor boy killed in Bandipora, police arrests victim’s cousin sister, 2 others for involvement

Budgam: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday claimed to solve a murder case of a minor boy by arresting three accused persons involved in the commission of the crime.

In a statement, police said that on December 1, 2020, Police Post Ajas received a written complaint from a resident of Chewdara wherein he stated that his minor son is missing from his home.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Beerwah and investigation was taken up.

During the course of the investigation, the body of the missing boy was recovered from a canal outside village Chewdara on December 2, 2020, police said.

During further investigation, one accused who is the cousin of the victim was arrested.

When the officers spoke to her they learnt about the involvement of the other two suspects. All the three accused persons have been arrested in the case and are currently under custody, police added in the statement.

“The case is under investigation and will be charge-sheeted within shortest possible time,” the statement said.
