Admin issues avalanche warning for higher reaches of JK, Ladakh

Srinagar: Disaster Management Authority (DMA) has issued low level avalanche warning for higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh region.

There is a threat of low level avalanche in higher reaches of Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar, Anantnag, Kulgam, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Kargil districts.

Low level avalanche has also been issued for Srianagar-Jammu national highway, which has been closed for traffic movement due to heavy snowfall.

People are urged to remain indoors and not to venture in avalanche prone areas.

However, in case of any emergency, people could contact local administration.
