No case of new COVID strain in Kashmir yet, say JLNM authorities

Srinagar: Authorities at JLNM hospital on Saturday said that no one has tested positive for the new COVID strain, saying that they were misinformed about the two patients, who have recently visited from the United Kingdom.

Nodal Officer for COVID at JLNM hospital told the news agency KNO that she was misinformed about the two UK returns. “No one has been tested positive for the new strain of COVID and the duo UK returnees have been tested positive for COVID,” she said.

She added that the tests for the new strain are not being conducted here and the samples are being sent for confirming it.

Earlier, she had informed that Kashmir has recorded the first two cases of new COVID strain after two Srinagar residents were tested positive.
