Air traffic resumes at Srinagar airport after remaining suspended for 24 hours

Srinagar: After remaining suspended for a day due to fresh spell of snowfall in the Kashmir valley, air traffic resumed at the Srinagar airport on Sunday.

An official said that the flights were delayed in the morning at Srinagar Airport due to accumulation of snow on the runway.

Director Srinagar Airport, Santosh Dhoke while speaking to the news agency Kashmir News Observer said the flight operations at Srinagar Airport have now been resumed.

Earlier, the authorities had said that runway will be ready for flight operation at 12:00 pm. “Some flights may delay but definitely flights movement will start Soon,” they said.

Meanwhile, traffic remained suspended on Srinagar-Jammu highway in view of snowfall on both sides of Jawhar tunnel.
